“So Swimming in the Rain” might have been a better marketing line for the latest So Kool Pool Party at the new Sofitel So in Sathorn. At the peak of its popularity through April and June, the pool party was attracting over 800 guests each event, thanks in part to promoter KC’s talent for bringing in the crowds. Sofitel So and Levels Entertainment made the bold decision to keep the monthly party going at The Water Club even through the rainy season – and showers may have kept the crowds at bay for the latest shindig last Saturday, Sep. 22. But for those that did show up, there was plenty of space to mingle and a super efficient bar.
One cool thing about the The Water Club’s infinity pool is that it’s illuminated by color-changing lights at 7pm sharp and underwater speakers allow swimmers to continue to rock out to the DJ beats whilst submerged. So cool!
One speedo-clad guest joked about a lone swimmer in the pool, “Even in the rain there’s that one person who doesn’t give up. Imma do laps bitches!” Based on her Olympic fashion it was clear the anonymous swimmer was not there for the party. She wore a one-piece swimsuit, goggles, and a swimming cap.
As for actual party guests, there was a perfect solution on hand for those that forgot their bathing suits. Sunkiss swimwear had a rack of suits for both sexes at the party. Older designs were 50% off making them THB500, a total bargain price especially at such a luxurious hotel property.
