Ahhhh the Super Bowl…….that timeless celebration of all things America.
For millions of diehard fans it marks the pinnacle of a hard fought season, pitting the two best teams (this year we have the Baltimore Ravens v. the San Francisco 49ers) against one another in a winner-take-all battle for immortality. For millions more, the Super Bowl provides a convenient excuse to get together with some buddies and consume copious amounts of food and alcohol whilst viewing some overpriced and truly atrocious commercials.
Regardless of your priorities, a handful of local Bangkok sports bars are ready, willing, and able to supply your early morning gridiron fix. Below is a list of some of the better options recommended by the team at Coconuts. Sadly, not many bars in BKK answered the call and agreed to open their doors at 6am.
As a quick reminder, the game (don’t call it a match!) begins at 6:30am (local time) on Monday February 4. Stop by any of these watering holes and join the inebriated masses in embracing the best (worst?) that American sports has to offer.
Bourbon St. Restaurant and Oyster Bar: Located right near the Ekkamai BTS, this cajun hotspot will be opening it’s doors at 6am. For the price of THB550, guests are entitled to a delicious breakfast buffet. Alcohol will also be available early and often. Roadhouse BBQ: Another can’t miss selection. Tickets available for THB650, which promises full-on breakfast buffet as well as a complimentary bloody mary or screwdriver upon entry. Sealing the deal, buffalo wings will be served at the half. Contact management to make an advanced reservation.
Tenderoins Sports Bar & Steakhouse: A free glass of prosecco greets every guest upon entry. From there bloodmary’s run for THB60 while kir royals and mimosas go for THB90. Breakfast buffet is THB190 and the regular happy hour deals will be running strong all day. Located near Phrom Pong BTS on Sukhumvit Soi 33.
The Sportsman Bar & Restaurant: unable to wake up early enough to catch a live viewing? Fear not because the Sportsman has you covered. Repeat showings of the game (at midday and again at 7pm) will be on offer at this classic sports bar.

UPDATE Sunday, Feb. 3 – True Visions is hosting a a Super Bowl HD Live party tomorrow morning from 6am at McDonald’s Amarin Plaza, where they will presumably be showing the game in high-definition.
