Dressy Durian: Beauty queens represent their hometowns in Thai pageant contest

As this year’s Miss Grand Thailand finals draw near, organizers from 77 Thai provinces pieced together outrageous costume creations for the chosen beauties to represent their hometowns.

One design that stood out from all others was the “King of Fruit,” or durian dress.

Coming straight from Chanthaburi, the eastern Thai province renowned for its bright golden durian, the fruity dress represented something that seemed dangerous from the outside, but fragrant and sweet within.

We’re just glad it didn’t come with the smell.

Look at Miss Chanthaburi Taweeporn Pringjamrat totally slay this pageant.

She seems to handle that peeled durian quite well too.

Another highlight was this elephant dress from Phitsanulok. 

Meanwhile, the beauty from Yasothorn represents her hometown with a costume inspired by the Rocket Festival, the biggest annual party in the province. She’s about to take off!
