Downtown road to shutdown to make people happy at street fair

Just in case you’re still unhappy, here’s another chance to turn that frown upside down ‒ unless you’re trying to get home on Friday after work.

Join the fun next Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening when the Tourism Authority of Thailand will shut down Rama I Road in the central business district around Ratchaprasong intersection to bring back the happiness at the “Thailand Happiness” street festival.

The party starts at 3pm and goes until midnight, a time of the week famous for its agonizing traffic as the weary proletariat attempts to return home for the weekend.

BUT: Ying Lee, Pod Moderndog and Potato will perform along with a traditional Thai performance and parade at Central World.

The real reason for occasion though seems to be, surprise, shopping! Being the month’s end, kiss your paycheck goodbye in the name of returning some happiness to the economy. There will be lots and lots of cute things to buy and eat.

Happy, happy happy ‒ happy happy happy, happy happy …
