A large building project with a dangerous-looking lean is nothing to worry about, officials said yesterday.
After a number of people freaked out at the sight of the leaning tower near the Rama IX intersection, officials sought to calm those worried: It is meant to lean, and no one needs to panic.
Responding to complaints the building might collapse, the Department of Public Works held a news conference yesterday to confirm the big G-shaped building’s plan was legally approved.
“The law doesn’t specify the shape of buildings, so designing a building in the shape of the letter G is allowed,” Director Pattarut Tantranon.said. “However the Department of Public Works will constantly inspect if the construction follows the approved plan, or if it affects citizens.”

G Land Tower is an office building part of the Grand Rama IX project, which includes two other buildings: the 125-story “Super Tower” skyscraper and a parking building. The project is being built by Grand Canal Co. Limited, Matichon reported.
