Don’t call me a sugar daddy: Junta member charged for slapping server at Greyhound

A member of the junta-appointed National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) is in hot water for allegedly slapping a server at a Greyhound restaurant last week.

NRSA member Anusawn Jirapong, 60, has been charged for bodily assault for hitting a male server in the face at the restaurant in Villa Ari after the employee referred to him as “pa,” a Thai word for “sugar daddy,” on March 10.

The server, identified by Post Today as Chat-alongkorn Nilayan, 29, filed a complaint with Bang Sue police and alleged that Anusawn backhanded him across his right cheek. However, the NRSA member said that he only “smacked” the young man on the head because he didn’t like being called “pa.”

In Thai language, “pa” can also be used to address to an older, respected person, but the word is generally used only among people who have a close relationship.

Anusawn said he was a regular customer at the restaurant and only wanted to discipline the male employee, Thairath reported.

NRSA Deputy Director Alongkorn Pollabut responded to the scandal by saying that a committee has been appointed to investigate Anusawn’s action. An interrogation will be held tomorrow.

Meanwhile, local tabloids have been digging up the dirt on Anusawn in an attempt to clarify why the server called him a “sugar daddy.”

Manager found photos of the older Anusawn and young pretty women on his personal Facebook page. He captioned one photo: “One lonely night in Bangkok.”

A model in one of the photos, whose name was withheld, spoke to Thai media that she was hired to have lunch with Anusawn and insisted nothing more was going on.

Anusawn, how could you blame the Greyhound server?
