Don Mueang Airport undid newly implemented security measures after long queues for too much X-raying led to overcrowding and long waits over the weekend.
A rule quietly introduced Friday to scan all luggage before check-in was blamed for terrible inconvenience and was rescinded today.
Airport officials said only checked baggage will be scanned at the counter, and carry-on bags at security checkpoints. Basically just what they were doing before Friday.
The airport said it will also request passengers not to open their carry-on bags after the security checkpoint. It will ask airlines to make sure security stickers on passenger’s bags remain unbroken otherwise the items must be re-scanned, Nation TV reported.
