Don Muang man arrested for selling nestling hawks

Technology Crime Suppression police yesterday busted a 38-year-old Don Muang resident for illegally selling wildlife online.

During an undercover operation, police detained Chakarin Charurattanadilok and seized three baby hawks packed in boxes. Chakarin, who confessed to the crime, said that he sold newborn birds for over one year through a website. He pocketed THB500 for each resale of squabs he sourced from Chatuchak Weekend Market.

Chakarin will face charges related to selling wildlife without permission, Dailynews reported.
