Dodgy sushi: health officials order raw fish inspection

Health officials have ordered a food safety check on raw fish across the country after several customers got sick from eating sushi in Bangkok.

The inspection was ordered after a number of customers got ill from bacteria in a salmon sashimi dish at Sushi Hiro on Rama III road, Khaosod English reported.

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officials have already ordered inspections of city sushi sellers, while the Food and Drug Administration said they would expand this nationwide.

The tropical climate boosts the chances of an outbreak of contamination, officials said.
