A decorative flourish from the Iron Fairies of yore
The story goes that nightlife mogul Ashley Sutton’s landlord gave him the boot and forced him to shut down Iron Fairies, his first food and beverage venture in Bangkok, in April. On a recent Instagram post he noted that it cost nearly THB15 million to move the nightlife location four doors up the block.
The doors of that new location will open to the public once again this Friday, July 5.
The new location is larger than the last, although elements from the old spot remain, like the wrought iron spiral staircase. The overall vibe is very similar to the Iron Fairies of yore, but the larger space makes it a little less dungeon-like and macabre. Part of the charm of the old venue was cramming into dark, shadowy corners; we hope that allure wasn’t lost in the remodel.
