Din Daeng tunnel to close for renovation

Following several accidents and recent deaths in the dark Din Daeng tunnel, officials will close the dangerous route at night for renovations to last two months.

Dark conditions inside the tunnel have been a factor in most accidents, so more lights will be installed the tunnel along its walls and floor under a budget of THB40 million, according to Public Works Director Suraphol Anawatchpongpa.

The tunnel is expected to be close from late night until dawn for two months. The date of the closure has not been confirmed, Sanook reported.
