Four months after they were promised, coupons to help families watch digital television may be sent out after all.
Millions of vouchers for THB690 will be sent to households starting in September, according to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission.
Before the military coup, the coupons’ value had swollen to THB1,000, drawing complaints of graft from consumer advocates. The junta subsequently shelved the program last month.
The coupons will reach 22 million families in local areas covered by digital broadcasts. They’ll be valid for six months.
At least that’s all according to the latest of many resolutions on the matter proposed by the commission, Bangkok Post reported.
