A French Muay Thai fighter’s new ink could have been an awesome shout-out to Thailand, but alas, it wasn’t to be.
Jimmy Vienot got stormed on social media by Thais today when they pointed out that his new “Muay Thai” tattoo in fact read Kuay Thai (“Thai dick”).
The Superkombat World Middleweight Champion was inundated with variations of how “one small change can make all the difference.”
“It’s actually have to be the letter of ม not ฆ . It’s the letter ม that gives you the sound of M. (Muey มวย/ Thai ไทย) And the letter ฆ gives you the sound of C and this meaning could go wrong in an appropriated way. Just so you know. Fix it right,” Faiiaiifii explained in a comment to Vienot’s Instagram post.
“I hope this is a photoshopped shot,” Paoisabookworm lamented.
Despite the ridicule, some appreciated his Thai lettering prowess.
“You still hot no matter Kuay or Muay :3,” Marieinmayy concluded.
