Democrat Jitisara secures Don Muang by-election

Based on unofficial results, the Don Muang by-election was declared for Democratic Party Candidate Taenkhun Jitisara, who bested his Pheu Thai opponent Yuranan Phamornmontree.

The Democrat Candidate received a total of 32,751 votes while Yuranan got only 30,357. This marks the Democrat Party’s first victory in the district in over a decade. Candidates from the Pheu Thai Party have held the position over the past several years. Upon learning of the election results, Yuranan congratulated Taenkhun and said that he would still continue to work and serve the people even without a political position.

He also added that he had himself to blame since he just had 16 days to campaign, while Taenkhun had been working together with the local populace for more than two years, the Nation reported.
