Defendants in Chuwit’s son’s robbery case claim innocence

A new twist has been added to the drama surrounding the alledged robbery of Chuwit Kamolvisit’s youngest son. Yesterday, defendants showed up to contradict the politician’s account of the case.

Five men, who were accused of assaulting and robbing 17-year-old Tortrakul Kamolvisit at knifepoint on April 15, handed over a letter to the media, in which they asked for justice and expressed fear about the influence of Chuwit, the former massage parlor mogul and current leader of the Rak Thailand Party.

One of the accused assailants, Thanachai Nubsadab, 31, said that he and his friends had just had a fight with Tortrakul and did not rob the youth. Thanachai claimed that he did not carry a knife or steal Tortrakul’s THB80,000 Bulgari wristwatch, Dailynews reported.
