Authorities are searching for a well-dressed man who robbed a jewelry store in the basement of Big C Lat Phrao in Wang Thong Lang district yesterday.
Saijai Kwannon, a shop clerk of Aurora Gold and Jewelry, described the lone robber as a fair-skinned and good-looking man who stood around 180 centimeters and wore a blue shirt and black slacks during the incident. He pulled out a gun, hidden behind a laptop bag, and fired a shot at the glass display before sweeping a large amount of gold into his bag and absconding.
The robbery happened in the matter of less than ten minutes. The stolen gold is worth an estimated THB950,000.
According to witnesses, the culprit ran away using Lat Phrao Road. Police are reviewing footage from in-store close-circuit cameras before releasing an arrest warrant against him, Dailynews reports.
