Dancing murderer says he shot fiance and her mother because of dowry increase

Yossapon Haekarn, the now infamous dancing murderer who shot both his wife-to-be and her mother, told authorities that he was motivated by the mother’s steep increase in the bridal dowry.

Yossapon alleges that the mother wanted to increase the price for her daughter from THB240,000 to THB2 million in an effort to break the couple up.

“When I said I didn’t have that much money, she told her daughter to end her relationship with me,”

Yossapon also claimed that his fiancé was romantically involved with a close friend of his.

Yossapon was caught yesterday while trying to flee the country at Thai-Cambodian border province of Sa Kaeo. The confessed killer was charged with pre-meditated murder, illegally possessing a gun and ammunition, and unauthorized carrying of a gun and ammunition in a public area, The Nation reported.
