An Asian-American artist will choreograph his own conflicted identity into a show next month at B-Floor Theater.
Telling his personal story through a combination of butoh and contemporary dance, Michael Sakamoto will perform “Blind Spot,” a solo, work-in-process production with the help of B-Floor’s provocateurs.
Sakamoto will tell his story in dance, video and sound while posing questions of intercultural identity, resulting conflict and instinct.
“We all have blind spots in our lives, mentally, emotionally, physically, and especially socially and culturally when troubled times occur,” Sakamoto said. “This performance is an embodiment of that reality, asking questions about everyday life that only each viewer can answer for themselves.”
Tickets are THB300 and THB200 for students. The show starts at 8pm on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8. Limited seating can be reserved by email or telephone at 082-388-4629.
