Curiosity in the human condition and other French themes at S Gallery

Gainsbourg, Derrida, Piaf. Say what you will, French has produced some seriously cool people who’ve created some created some pretty cool merde. As we get sentimental about bidding adieu to the La Fete festival, our thoughts turn to our dear self-absorbed friends from Franceland.

That brings us to S Gallery and its exposition by French artist Bruno Tanquerel, “Out of Curiosity,” which opens next month.

The exhibition will feature work in Tanquerel’s style that inspires the familiarite, curiosite and imagination, if you’ll pardon our French, through the assemblage of fantasy, humor and the sadness of human relationships.

And something about his sensitive observation of human comedy, but you get it, it’s wonderfully French.

The opening reception starts at 6pm on June 18, and the exhibition runs through July 18.
