Going to the toilet in a gas station is unpleasant enough for most women, but the experience became downright disgusting for one woman recently. A taxi driver was apprehended yesterday for attempting to extort money from a woman he filmed using the toilet.
The woman, who prefers to remain anonymous, drove to a gas station in Bangchak to use the bathroom. When she came back to her car, she found two notes wedged into the door handle on the driver’s side.
The first said: “I used Bluetooth and now I have a lovely picture of you doing your business just now.”
The second said: “Call 0958065XXX – I have both still pictures and a video.”
To make things even creepier, he ended the last note with, “you are lovely.” Gross.
When she called the number, he demanded she pay him THB3,000 if she did not want him to post the pictures and the video on the internet.
She left the gas station and went immediately to the Chok Chai police station. While the police were asking her questions, the blackmailer constantly called her phone.
The police decided to have the victim set a meeting place with her blackmailer. He must have started becoming cautious and wary because he changed the meeting location several times before settling on the parking lot of Home Pro on Praditmanutham Road.
At the meeting spot, the police were able to quickly apprehend the taxi driver, a 27-year-old man named Pichet Singthong, who was waiting for his money. He confessed that he was trying to extort money from the victim, but he didn’t actually take any photos or videos of her in the bathroom.
We couldn’t figure out how he actually would have been able to pull this off anyway, unless he randomly had equipment already installed in a gross gas station bathroom.
He was charged with attempted extortion and sent for prosecution, reported Kapook.
