The Criminal Court yesterday rejected the bail plea of the former model, who was arrested for smuggling a very small amount of cocaine through Don Mueang airport in late 2012.
Chatchaya Cuesta Ramos, aka Yuyee, was sentenced to 15 years prison and a fine of THB1.5 million last Thursday for smuggling 251mg of cocaine.
Another three-month jail term for possession of endangered species was also added after the authorities searched her home and found a number of wild animals. She has been held in Bangkhen Central Women’s Prison since.
The court feared the defendant might escape and rejected her bail.
Yuyee was known as a sexy model. She also appeared in a few films and television lakorn series in 1990s, Manager reported.
So remember kids, keep your smuggling to endangered animals. Because: three months.
