Court ‘anarchy’ vandal arrested

Police last night arrested a young man for spraying anarchy symbols on the sign of the Criminal Court this past weekend.

A 22-year-old man who said he was angry at the pace of justice for a slain friend admitted to having painted the symbols, which were amusingly described by many media outlets as referring to comic book hero “Captain America.”

After his arrest, Nathapol Khemngern said he wanted to send a message about Thailand’s criminal justice system. In February, a student friend of his was reportedly shot and killed by a soldier in the Bang Khen district. The investigation into his friend’s death has gone nowhere, he said.

Nathapol was charged with vandalism and the court could also file contempt charges against him, Bangkok Post reported.
