Cops arrest man for stealing skull from grave

An alleged grave robber who also claims to be a shaman was arrested yesterday for stealing a skull from a graveyard to make amulets with in Udon Thani.

Narong Phumphuchit was arrested at his wife’s house in Loei district.

Police raided Narong’s home in Udon Thani and found paraphernalia used for occult rituals, including a human brain in a pot. Narong’s alleged accomplice, Arthit Kongkarian, is still at large.

The suspects reportedly visited a cemetery where they singled out a target — the corpse of 27-year-old Theerapong Seeraburin who had died three months earlier.

They then went back to the cemetery on Sept 15, dug up the grave and removed the skull, which was taken back to Mr Narong’s house where it was cut in half.

Mr Arthit took his half of the skull and planned to carve out a disc from the forehead area, bless it and sell it to a foreign customer for THB50,000, reported the Bangkok Post.
