Thai Premier League football referee, Thanom Borikut, was gunned down early this morning outside of a dormitory at the Sport Authority of Thailand Headquarters in Bangkok.
The ref was quickly rushed to Ramkhamhaeng Hospital with two gunshot wounds to his body and one in his right arm. He is now in stable condition.
An eyewitness stated that there were two gunmen, both wearing helmets, who fled the scene immediately after firing multiple rounds at Thanom.
Thanom is often criticized by fans for his ethics on the pitch. As recently as last month Thamon was attacked for trying to obstruct football club reps from participating in a FIFA regulation meeting, the Bangkok Post reported.
