For the first time ever, they say, Comic Con lands in Bangkok next Friday.
That is if you totally ignore Bangkok’s “first and biggest,” competing Comic Con just last month – at the same place, nonetheless.
Not that the legions of BKK geeks will suddenly cry out in terror at the thought of having multiple nerdgasms, they’ll just need some kind of nerd Viagra to keep it going.
Attracting throngs of comic book and geek culture fans from around the globe, comic cons have become big business for marketing international film and animation. Comic Con Prime can be traced back to its inception in San Diego, Calif., in 1970.
Here in the Big Mango, local and international industry players including Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Marvel are expected to soak attendees in commercial marketing while visitors enjoy the collective celebration of pop culture.
It’s like a big Pride parade for the openly nerd.
Check it out for at the very minimum, there should be some fap-worthy cosplay to check out. Or maybe not.
