Coconut Milk Dog recovers at pet clinic

A soi dog found half-buried and force-fed coconut milk to sweeten his meat for BBQ is in the care of doctors and recovering from his coconut-milk dogging.

“Dam,” the poor pooch from Kanchanaburi is still recovering from serious flesh wounds and infection caused by being buried alive up to his haunches to prevent his escape and tenderize his meat. He was supposed to die slowly as called for by the recipe for local exotic dish “Coconut Milk Dog” before he was found by health officials two weeks ago, who immediately dug him up from the dirt.

Today the great news was that Dam can now stand on his four legs again. His recovery continues to make progress as his treatment is funded by a network of volunteers, according to a statement last night from Soi Dog Foundation.

Once Dam is fully healed, the volunteers will seek a forever home for him to settle down. Many kind-hearted animal lovers have offered to adopt him, and not for coconut-milk dogging purposes.
