Clay jars save Suphan Buri millionaire’s cash from fire

Yesterday, a fire in the Suphan Buri community destroyed more than 10 houses. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters were stunned to discover a number of clay jars containing a small fortune inside one of the charred houses.

Suphan Buri police said that they found over THB500,000 in cash as well as a large amount of gold ornaments inside the jars. Forty-six-year-old homeowner Morakot Sukkong soon claimed the belongings after police inspected the site. The millionaire planned to spend the money on some property in Phuket and, luckily, is still able to do so as her wealth was saved from the heat, thanks to the clay pots in which it was stored.

Firefighters spent one hour staunching the blaze, which was believed to have been caused by a short circuit at a house next to Morakot’s, Khaosod reported.
