Chuwit unable to register for election, blames ‘conspiracy’

One of Chuwit Kamolvisit’s many campaign posters from the 2011 election.

Maverick parliamentarian Chuwit Kamolvisit vented his frustration after he was blocked by anti-government protesters from registering his Love Thailand Party at the Thai-Japanese stadium this morning.

After hundreds of protesters denied entry, Chuwit accused the People’s Democratic Reform Committee and Democrat Party chief Abhisit Vejjajiva of conspiring to violate the rule of law by interfering with the democratic process.

Blocking the registration site was unreasonable, he said, because it would disallow the public to have a voice in the election.

He also said that he expects the Feb. 2 election to be plagued with problems, Thai PBS reported.
