Chinese tourists really cut in front of Thai at check-in, Lion Air staff say

More information has come to light regarding the cat fight at the check-in line of Thai Lion Air at Don Muang Airport on Friday.

Airline staff have confirmed that two Chinese women, not one as earlier reported, decided it would be a good idea to start a fight with a Thai woman at the check-in counter.

The melee started when the two unidentified Chinese women walked to the front of the queue, pushing the Thai woman’s luggage cart out of the way.

The Thai asked the ladies to go to the back of the line and wait their turn but the two women refused, claiming they would miss their flight in two hours.

This lead to the cat fight that was captured on video last Friday, airline staff told Channel 7 News.

Staff said the incident happened at 9am on Friday when the counters were crowded with passengers waiting to check-in to five different flights. The Chinese women were traveling to Chiang Mai.

The women ended up missing their flight after spending a couple of hours talking to the police.

The number of incidents involving misbehaving Chinese tourists is on the rise in Thailand, sparking a wave of frustration among locals.
