A Chinese man was killed while crossing train tracks in front of his hotel in the capital’s Lak Si district today.
The 62-year-old tourist, whose identity was withheld, died shortly after he was struck by a train which sent him flying 50 meters away from the tracks in front of the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel on Kampaeng Petch Road.
The man had attempted to cross the tracks at an unmarked and uncontrolled location.
According to investigators, the man was a guest of the hotel and was crossing the track to go to a convenience store.
Police think he might have had a hearing impairment and was deaf to the approaching train, Sanook reported.
