Children’s Discovery Museum opens 7 years after it was built

The Children’s Discovery Museum — built at a cost of THB300 million and completed in 2007 — recently let visitors in for the first time.

The delay was put down to the buildings at the museum in Thung Khru not being up to the required standard and unsafe for visitors. The museum underwent a THB43 million renovation last year.

Covering 18,473 square meters, the museum has two buildings.

The three-storey building features a reception area, souvenir shop and a canteen on the first floor and exhibitions on the second and third floors. Children can learn about their body, senses and emotions on the second floor.

The second building is where visitors can learn about the nearby Bang Mot community from the residents who call it home, according to the Bangkok Post.

The Children’s Discovery Museum is located in Thung Khru.
