Chiang Mai Zoo showed off its four white lion babies born from a captive lion to the public today.
The babies, now two-months old, are the young of white lion “Nok” who moved from Africa to Chiang Mai Zoo in June when she was already pregnant.
The babies, one male and three female, have been raised naturally by mama Nok as she is very protective of her cubs and she refuses to let the zoo staff help, according to Niphon Wichairat, director of Chiang Mai Zoo.
The veterinarian team said the babies seem very healthy and are breast-fed regularly.
Visitors to the zoo can view the white lions from today to celebrate Mother’s Day. Also, a competition will be held soon to name the cubs, Morning News reported.
