Today is Loy Krathong, but it’s also the night of the biggest, brightest “supermoon” seen in the night sky since 1948.
The moon won’t be this close to the earth for another 18 years. It’s because of this proximity that the moon appears to be larger and brighter than usual.
To get a really great view of the supermoon, the Bangkok Planetarium, just a short walk from BTS Ekkamai, will allow use of their telescopes tonight from 6pm until 9pm.
To please the expected crowd, they are also offering free presentations of their regular, Thai-language planetarium show at 7pm and at 7:30pm, reported Khaosod English.
