Chatuchak Plaza fire destroys 16 stalls

A massive fire broke out at the Chatuchak Plaza shopping complex this morning, completely destroyed 16 shopping stalls.

The fire reportedly started in Zone C of the mall between sois 1 and 2, an area designated for selling home furniture and decorations, before spreading quickly along the rooftops. Firefighters took 30 minutes to put out the fire. No casualties were reported.

A team of forensic police will be sent to determine the cause of the fire. Damage is initially estimated to be around THB5 million, state media reported.
