Thailand eased past Japan 3-0 to win the 17th Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship final.
Thailand went into the final as the underdogs but their 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 victory sent the packed Chatchai Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima into raptures.
Thailand won the close first set 25-22. The Japanese looked out of sorts in the next two sets as the hosts wrapped up the tie with 25-18 and 25-17 wins, reported the Bangkok Post
