Astronomy geeks, rejoice. The century’s longest lunar eclipse will be visible across Thailand next Saturday.

The total eclipse (aka what we refer to as the Blood Moon) will last about 1 hour and 43 minutes, while the entire celestial event will last about four hours, according to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).

Thailand is expected to see the total eclipse from 2:30am to 4:13am on July 28.

During eclipses, the moon turns a deep red as some of the sunlight passes through Earth’s atmosphere and falls onto the moon’s surface. It’s safe to view directly with the naked eye.

July’s eclipse will also happen on the same night that the earth is passing between the sun and Mars, placing Mars in position for an excellent view of the red planet.

This eclipse will be visible in all Coconuts cities, as well as Europe, Africa, Australia. (Our friends in North America will have to wait for the next one, coming in January.)
