Central to build three more malls in Thailand, upgrade six existing malls

Mega mall company Central Pattana (CPN) has announced that the company is building three more Central shopping malls across Thailand and renovating four malls in Bangkok — including CentralWorld.

Since shopping and hanging at the mall are Thailand’s national pastimes, it comes as no surprise that by 2018, when the new malls are complete, CPN will own a total of 34 malls.

CentralPlazas are being built in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Nakhon Ratchasima and Samut Sakhon provinces. Meanwhile, the existing “CentralFestival Phuket,” will get a major expansion and turned into an even bigger “Central Phuket.”

Why not?

The majestic Central Phuket, located on 400,000 Sq.m. of land is being built with a THB20 billion budget. When completed, the mall will house a hotel, a convention center, an aquarium and the “Tales of Thailand” zone where tourists can buy special products from all over the different provinces and visit a floating market…inside a mall.

Central Phuket is scheduled to be completed in December 2017.

Nakhon Ratchasima, or Korat, although one of the most developed provinces in Isaan, has never lost its Central virginity. So CPN has set out to open CentralPlaza Nakhon Ratchasima in Sept. 2017 featuring the concept of  “Mahanakhon of Isaan.” The mall will be equipped with a hotel, condominium, conventional hall, outdoor market, and park.

Meanwhile, five more Centrals are going to get an upgrade too. This includes the Bangkok shopping hubs of CentralWorld, CentralPlaza Pinklao, CentralPlaza Banga and CentralPlaza Rama 3 as well as Pattaya’s CentralPlaza.
