Bus No. 23 delivers passed-out passenger to hospital

In red and white, an unsung Bangkok hero took action to try and save a life yesterday.

Bus No. 23 left its route on an emergency run to the hospital after one of its passengers collapsed and fainted in the morning hours.

Ruamkatanyu Rescue volunteers were called to Soi Petchaburi 47 after Sanga Angkaew, 46, collapsed on the bus. The medical team feared if it moved Sanga, his condition might worsen, so bus driver Uthen Tinapan, 59, decided he would take the passenger to Bangkok Hospital.

Sanga was still alive when he made it to the hospital, but later died in the emergency room. Doctors assume he suffered from an unknown health condition and are conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Daily News reported.
