Private bus fares will increase by THB1 tomorrow, the Department of Land Transport has decided, despite demands from operators for a larger hike.
Effective tomorrow, Tuesday, non-air conditioned bus fares will rise to THB9 and air-conditioned rides will start at THB13 to 14.
For now bus operators will continue using their existing stock of tickets with the pre-increase fares printed on them.
Director-General Theerapong Rodprasert said that the Department of Land Transport is considering the THB3 hike requested by bus operators last week due to the increasing prices of NGV fuel. The organization is studying the real cost of service, Morning News reported.
