Burmese man’s death blamed on hot summer

A van passenger died in his seat Saturday morning and Tak province authorities say their leading suspect is the hot weather.

On a public van running from Samut Sakhorn to Tak, Teng-ao, a Burmese-national using only one name, was found dead in his seat when the van reached its destination in Mae Sot district.

According to the van driver Kriangsak Wassantachad, the van left Samut Sakhorn on Friday night and arrived Mae Sot the next morning. He tried to wake Teng-ao but discovered the man had died.

The authorities determined heat caused Teng-ao’s death, possibly complicating pre-existing medical problems, Khaosod reported.
