A photo of a Burger King in Bangkok that could easily be mistaken for one of the city’s 452 temples went viral this week.
Considering our level of interest in American junk food chains (almost non-existent), we didn’t come across this pretty cool Burger King until it was retweeted over 30,000 times this week.

While it looks like there’s a temple behind this particular Burger King, (hence, its attempt to blend in with the ornamental structure.), that decorative building is actually a shopping mall called Montien that’s located outside the Montien Hotel on Surawong Road.
If you walk down the road further, there’s also a Starbucks with the same Thai-style roof.
According to Burger King, the store opened in October and it’s the first Burger King inspired by Thai architecture.
Actually, everything about this Burger King has a temple-like feeling to it, from the countertop and the ceilings to a large mural of Hanuman, the soldier from the Thai epic Ramakien.
Everything except the food, of course.
