Buakaw to compete in semifinal of K-1 World Max

Muay Thai fighter Buakaw “Buakaw” Banchamek will take his sharp elbows to Azerbaijan tomorrow for the semi-finals of the K-1 World MAX.

The 31-year-old Muay Thai kickboxer is a returning champion of the competition from 2004, and he vows to bring back another belt to Thailand. The match is Sunday.

“I’m going to compete in the final four in Azerbaijan, and if I make it I’ll be a finalist,” Buakaw said. “Please stay tuned to watch the match and support me. I’ll bring you another K-1 championship belt!”

Buakaw will compete with 23-year-old Lee Sung-Hyun from South Korea. The match will be broadcast online via Epicenter TV website at midnight on Feb. 23, Thairath reported.
