After enticing Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal to play tennis, the government will invest THB10 million more to stage a rematch between Muay Thai legend Buakaw Banchamek and Khayal Dzhaniev of Russia to boost tourism.

After Buakaw lost to Dzhaniev at the Top King World Series in July, he will get the chance to redeem himself in the middle of Ratchaprasong junction next month in a rematch organized by the Sports Association of Thailand.

Similar to the “Back To Thailand” tennis match between Nadal and Djokovic last week, this fight will be another attempt to restore the country’s image and boost tourism after the Bangkok blast.

The match is said to set to be around the third week of November, but no date has been decided yet. The event will also feature five other Muay Thai matches .

The association also plans to hold other sports events such as a car race featuring Sébastien Loeb, who won the World Rally Championship nine times in a row.

The race will be held at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, Daily News reported.
