A British teacher who wanted Kylie Jenner lips has slammed a Bangkok clinic that she says left her looking disfigured after a botched filler job.
Amelia Greville, 24, used a Groupon Thailand voucher to get Juvéderm filler, which the reality star famously uses to boost her plump pout, injected into her lips.
But her excitement soon turned to horror as two months later she began to develop hard, painful lumps on her lips that protruded out of her skin.
Amelia went back to the unnamed clinic to get the fillers dissolved, but instead they gave her another injection.
“There was no difference to my lips, except my top lip became so internally bruised from the overfilled injection that scar tissue and fat deposits developed, leaving me with light yellow lumps in my top lip,” she said.
Amelia then went to another doctor who believed the first clinic had used a cheap fake filler instead of Juvéderm, and found she needed surgery to fix the botch job, which will cost about THB75,000.
On her GoFundMe page, she said: “Not only do I need the surgery to help with the major discomfort and pain I feel in my lips, and the lack of confidence it has given me, but also so that I can prove to the Thai authories and the Thai FDA that this clinic is injecting people illegally, and have them prosecuted and shut down permanently.”
However since she has gone public with her story she got some of her cash back from the clinic and a refund from Groupon.
“The clinic have given me a pretty big chunk of the money I need after I went public with the story. That plus some fees from the press is enough to cover the surgery.
“DONT GIVE ANY MORE DONATIONS! Working on refunding everyone now. You’re all bloody amazing xxx”
Update: Amelia’s GoFundMe page has been taken down after the story was published.
