A fire broke out the The Canton House restaurant, a famous Chinese restaurant, on Yaowarat Road around 3:20pm today.
It was reported that the fire broke out from the first floor of the six-storey building. Authorities are still trying to bring the flames under control.
So far there has been no reports of casualties.
Officials have also shut down traffic from Chalermburi Intersection to Sampanthawongsaram Worawihan Temple. Police radio JS100 advised commuters to avoid the route.
