A photo of a billionaire real estate heir calling attention to recent victims of violence by bowing before police on Silom Road is making the rounds online today.
Thanat Thanakitamnuay, the heir of Noble Home Development, got on his knees and bowed before officers in front of Silom Complex yesterday as the Business Club for Democracy gathered for a whistle-blowing demonstration to express their opposition to the Feb. 2 elections. Thanat said his action was to request investigators find those responsible for the death of two protesters at the Thai-Japanese stadium late last month.
Thanat claimed the death was caused by the confrontation between authorities and protesters who tried to break into the stadium to stop the election commission from accepting election candidates, Sanook reported.
