Body of worker killed in Israel returns home today

The body of the Thai worker killed by shrapnel from a mortar shell in Israel was set to return to Thailand today.

After landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Narakorn Kitiyangkul’s body will travel to his home province of Nan on Tuesday morning.

Narakorn was killed on Wednesday when a mortar landed close to where he was working in a greenhouse just north of Gaza in the city of Ashkelon.

Consular personnel will accompany his body to Nan in a bid to offer assistance and compensation to his family.

The Foreign Affairs and Labor Ministry will also shoulder the costs of transportation and funeral rites for Narakorn’s family, state media reported.
