BMA says back-to-school could mean more traffic congestion

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is preparing for record amounts of traffic with the resumption of public school later this year.

Bangkok governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra brought up this topic while on a recent visit to a Bangkok school, where he said that the 100,000 new cars due to enter Bangkokian roads thanks to the “first car” policy might hinder navigability.

The Nation, however, reports that the BMA is working with law-enforcement officers and civil volunteers to help direct traffic around schools.
