BMA announces plans to demolish Saphan Taksin station

Representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have announced that they plan to demolish Saphan Taksin BTS station in favor of putting in more rail tracks.

In lieu of the river access provided by Saphan Taksin station, the BMA plans to install a 700-meter moving skywalk that will shuttle passengers between Surasak station and the Chao Phraya piers.

The Nation reports that the BMA plans to grant the area underneath Saphan Taksin a second life as a public park.
