The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is holding a seminar to promote Bangkok as a narcotic-free city in every level of society.

Advisor to the Bangkok Governor Pol Maj-Gen Vichai Sangprapai presided over the opening ceremonies of the seminar at City Hall. The seminar itself is geared towards encouraging the public to participate in preventing drug abuse in the city of Bangkok. The high number of drug users and sellers around the capital were cited as the factors that caused the BMA to put on the conference.

It is also important to get all the stakeholders involved as well as to educate people in the community, especially students, about the consequences of drug abuse, he added. During the conference, the BMA established the goal of decreasing drug use in the capital within three months’ time.
